The Dark side of the moon is the Eigth studio album by the English psychedelic band Pink Floyd. It is considered to be as one of the best band of The Pink Floyd and one of the greatest album of all time.

It has sold 45 million copy and is second highest selling album in rolling stones. Despite being beloved for at least three generations now, though, there are still a few mysteries that the album reveals only to the most dedicated Floyd freaks. Some of the most fascinating ones are

  ·         Clare Torry was shocked the band liked her voice so much in the very unique "Great Gig in the sky"

  ·         The album hit number one on the US charts for one week in 1973. David Gilmour had had a bet with manager Steve O'Rourke that the album wouldn't crack the US top 10

  ·         The title of the album was almost "Eclipse" when British Rock duo Medicine Head came up with their own album Dark  Side of The Moon .

  ·         The "stoned" laughter used in the background of Speak to Me and Brain Damage is from Peter Watts, a road manager for the Floyd pictured on the back of the Ummagumma sleeve. His daughter, Naomi Watts, is a famous actress that has appeared in several films and was named one of the 50 Most Beautiful People by People Magazine in 2002. Sadly, Peter Watts died of a drug overdose in 1976.

  ·         The album leaked a year early. The band was terrified when bootleg performed their full album prior a year of an actual release.

Pink Floyd is one of the most successful rock bands of  all time with excess sales of more than 200 million worldwide. Pink floyd were the master of art of musical composition. David Gilmour's long and mesmerizing solos in songs like "Shiny on You Crazy Diamond" , 'Coming back To Life" etc.  is nothing other than sheer masterpiece.

Pink Floyd has been through an extremely all around characterized developmental procedure. Their music was transcendently guided by Syd Barrett in their initial years. Melodies like See Emily Play, Bike and others of that time have a hallucinogenic touch. Later, Roger Waters had the most impact, where you would see collections, similar to The Wall, having woeful topics.
